Yeast (Candida Albicans), is a mold that is found on surfaces and in foods. Many people around the world are allergic to yeast and wonder how to prevent yeast allergy. Yeast is found in many common food products and thus difficult to avoid at times.
Yeast is a micro organism of the fungus family. In greater or lesser degree yeast is present in our body also but in a much balanced form. Preventing yeast allergy is important because frequent infection caused by this allergy cab be the underlying reason for other medical problems like – AIDS, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, schizophrenia, irritable bowl syndrome, chronic fatigue system, and other complications.
Tips on how to prevent yeast allergy
- Record the symptoms and events when you have any allergic reaction. Try to remember whether the food you had recently contained yeast in some form.
- Ask your doctor for more specific symptoms of yeast allergy and take care to avoid that food again.
- Try and avoid all foods that have preservatives.
- If it is confirmed that you have yeast allergy then see food labels properly before buying a food. If the ingredients suggest yeas or any product made of yeast then not buy the product.
- While visiting a restaurant, make it clear to the waiter that you do not want any food with yeast.
- There are hundreds of yeast free recipe available on the internet. You can download these recipes and try cooking delicious yeast free food at home.
- Totally avoid food like vinegar, bread rich in yeast, and liquor.
- You must be careful while buying vitamin and mineral supplements because many of them contain yeast also.
