- First and foremost consult your doctor in case you feel that you or your infant is allergic to egg.
- If the doctor recommends an egg allergy test then go for it to confirm that it is the egg that causes allergic symptoms.
- Record the events and symptoms when you suffered allergy. Thus will help in identifying that it is the egg yolk or the egg white, or both that is causing allergic symptoms.
- If you are eating in a restaurant then have a proper idea about the dishes that contain egg in any form.
- Avoid foods like mayonnaise, marshmallow, bakery products, shakes with eggs, horseradish, creamy candy, salad dressings, muffin, quick breads, and so on.
- While buying any bakery product or any such food that you think can contain egg, read the label carefully. You can ask the shopkeeper if you can’t make out.
People with severe symptoms of egg allergy are recommended to carry epinephrine in order to avoid fatal effects. Knowing how to prevent egg allergy is very important because a number of foods contain egg. Prevention is better than cure and you can prevent by being aware.
