In past 20 years there has been significant increase in the cases of allergic reactions. If the problem of allergy persists then soon America will record 50 million people suffering from one or more allergy. Everyone tries to look for best allergy treatments in lack of a standard approach to treat allergy.

Allergy is affecting a large population due to several external factors. Increase in atmospheric pollution, decreased immunity levels, heavy industrialization, and other factors are contributing to the rapid increase in the cases of allergy. An allergy is an abnormal response of the body caused by external factors like certain foods, substance in air, a specific chemical, and so on.

Allergy mainly affects us in three ways – it either attacks the respiratory system – chest, nose, throat; or the skin of our body. Allergic symptoms can interfere in the day to day life of human beings and reduce their general feeling of well being. Suppose if a person is allergic to milk then he has to sacrifice so many good foods made from milk. The life of a person suffering from allergy is affected in a major way. Thus we look for the best allergy treatment to come out of the problem.

While there might be no options for curing an allergy forever, there are a number of ways to prevent allergic symptoms and reduce the instances of allergic reactions.

Here are a few best allergy treatments:

Allergen Vaccines: This is good way to treat allergy in long run. However, it works for some people while not for others. Only a doctor can suggest whether this is suitable for you or not. In this treatment a small amount of allergen is administered under the skin of the patient with the help of injection. This is done over a period of time until the person develops resistance to that allergen. This procedure is known as immunotherapy.

Immunotherapy is quite suitable for allergies caused by dust mites, pet dander, and pollen. It is not fit for allergies caused by food. This treatment is really helpful in controlling symptoms like asthma, wheezing, runny nose, chest congestion, and other respiratory problems.

Immune Boosting: Research shows that if you boost your immune system the occurrence of allergic reaction also reduces. This treatment is very good for children who are prone to allergies. Nutritional supplements like vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B12, vitamin B5, Grape seed extract, raw adrenal, Magnesium, Pantethine, are regularly given in order to provide relief from allergy. These are believed to neutralize histamine and reduce the instances of allergy. This is rather a preventive method, immune boosting does not cure allergies in advanced stage.

Herbal Allergy Relief: Herbs provide safe treatment for ailments. Herbs are natural and do not harm the body even if used for a long time. Herbal allergy treatments go slow on the body and provide gradual but long lasting relief. Some of the best herbs used to cure allergy are:

  1. Eyebright: Eyebright is used to cure chest congestion, cold, and cough.
  2. Stinging Nettle: Eyebright when used along with stinging nettle provides best herbal natural remedy for allergy. Stinging nettle is used to treat hay fever conditions.
  3. Marshmallow Root: Treats the inflammation of mucous membrane causing allergy.
  4. Rosemary: This herb has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.

The best allergy treatment depends on case to case. There is not any single method that is best. One can also use a combination of two methods for example, medication and herbal treatment. Only expert medical advice can suggest the treatment that is best for you.
