Pustules: A pustule is an enlarged form of whitehead. While in whitehead the bumps are smaller and not inflamed, pustules are inflamed, painful, and red high bumps.
Nodules: Nodules are a slightly severe in nature. It occurs deep within the skin. Nodules are hard bumps that infect the area around. Clearing the infection properly is important in the case of nodules because it is deep within the skin and cause severe scarring.
Cysts: Cysts are the ultimate form of acne one can have. Cysts are filled with pus and are very painful. One has the urge to squeeze cysts and take out the pus but this can be fatal for the skin as it can result in deep scars that may stay for a lifetime.
