Acne or pimple break-outs are the most common skin problems that affect almost everyone around. There is hardly a person who has had no pimple attack sometime or the other in his/her lifetime. Facial acne and neck acne are common troublesome areas that are known to leave blemishes behind.
How to treat neck acne?
Acne on neck is a common occurrence and leaves the person despairing enough. Certain tips can be followed while handling neck pimples:
- The skin on the neck is extremely delicate and should be handled with care. Excessive rubbing and drying out the skin is hence, not advisable.
- Over the counter products containing salicylic acids and benzoyl peroxides should be used with great caution on the neck. Application of other pimple creams which are known to be effective on facial must be applied sparingly on the neck region. It has been observed that over application of creams containing benzoyl peroxides only leaves the neck skin dry and more prone to acne outbreak.
- If one is using the pimple creams, it is recommended to apply them sparingly on the neck lest they dry the skin. Do not apply pimple creams more than once a day. Follow-up this with application of skin moisturizers to prevent drying of the skin.
- Avoid using tight clothing around the neck and blouses or jackets with high turtle necks. Change the pillow covers frequently to avoid accumulation of dirt which can clog the skin pores.
- It is advisable to keep the hair tied and away from the neck region. The oils in the hair or the chemicals of the shampoo and conditioners might irritate the skin and cause neck acne.
- Avoid frequently touching the neck and popping the pimples. Such practices trigger more acne break-outs and also causes scars.
- Use medicated face washes or soaps to wash the face.
Home remedies to treat neck acne
- Apply a paste of fenugreek leaves on neck acne. This method is very effective in controlling pimples on the face and neck.
- Make a paste of tomato juice and fuller’s earth and apply on the neck Wash off after 20 minutes. This is an effective way of treating neck acne.
A beautiful face comes along with a dainty clean neck. Hence, it is significant to keep it acne free and get rid of those blemishes.
