More and more people are turning towards natural acne remedies to get rid of their acne, scars and to prevent future pimple outbreaks. Acne is caused by excess sebum clogging the skin pores which eventually inflame along with dead cells and bacteria to give rise to pimples or acne.

Natural remedies to teat acne

  • Application of tea-tree oil is an effective means of controlling acne outbreak and even getting rid of acne scars. Mud packs and face packs that contain tea-tree oil should be applied on the acne prone area to treat the acne.
  • One must drink plenty of water and take a diet rich in minerals and vitamins. The best sources of minerals are fresh fruits and salads. This would help in throwing out the toxins and cleansing the system from inside.
  • Soak a handful of neem leaves in the water used for bathing. Use this water to splash the face and take bath also. Neem has effective anti-bacterial properties that control the acne, but also helps in maintaining hygiene.
  • Effective acne gels can be used to prevent acne outbreaks while continuing with the natural remedies to treat pimples.
  • It is observed that natural alfa-hydroxy acids are effective in reducing acne on the skin. These acids are found in good volumes in fruits, tomatoes, lemons, papayas etc. Application of lemon juice to which rose water has been added on the acne for 15 minutes and then washing off the area with cold water, is a good home-made remedy to treat acne.
  • Natural glycerin soaps can be used for gently washing the face and body. They do not excessively dry the skin but simply remove the excess sebum from it.
  • One of the most natural acne treatment is to apply a paste of bking soda and water on the face for 20 minutes and then wash it away.  This procedure dries away the acne and clears up the ckin.
