Acne is known to affect almost everyone (above the age of 15 years) sometime or the other, either in its most severe form or in the mildest of all. In fact, mild acne is what hits 90%o of the people most of the time.

What is mild acne?

Mild acne is the tem used to describe the acne lesions if there are no large lesions, but just few scattered papullae on the face, or chest or thighs or back. Mild acne is also caused as a result of hormonal imbalance which triggers excess production of sebum on the skin. This in turn blocks the pores of the skin along with other skin debris! As the clogging of pores in not in very high number, this only results in mild acne.

How to treat mild acne?

  • If you have mild acne, you must consider yourself lucky, because other forms of acne are more persistent such as: moderate acne and severe acne. The last two forms of acne need extensive medication and long treatment.
  • Mild acne can be easily treated by application of over-the-counter acne gels and creams that not only treat acne but also get rid of acne scars. Several other popular topical pimple creams are also available which are highly effective. Do not apply thick layers of acne cream as this would only cause drying of the acne-prone skin and even peeling of the skin.
  • Always use oil-free moisturizers and a good quality oil-free sun bock which would protect the skin from dehydration and sunlight.
  • Wash your face once with a medicated face wash. This would dry up the zits and give you a healthy complexion.
  • Avoid using thick creams and other oil based make-up items. They might just aggravate the acne problem that you have.

Natural remedies for mild form of acne

  • Since, the acne outbreak is relatively mild on the skin, it can be easily controlled and acne scars can also be effectively lightened. There are excellent natural remedies to do so. Lemon juice, honey, potato juices, cucumber paste, chick pea flours etc are some of the natural items that can be used to control acne naturally.
  • Make a paste of oatmeal powder with lemon juice and honey. Apply on the face and wash it off after 20 minutes by gentle scrubbing of the face. This is an easy way to treat mild acne.
