Laser blemish removal for acne scars
If the acne scars are very dark and one is unable to lighten them, it is advisable to visit a dermatologist. He/she may suggest laser therapy where laser rays are used to remove the top layer of the skin which contains the acne scars. The skin underneath would take a week or so to heal but you will have a fresh clean skin.
Dermal-abrasion of skin
In this procedure, a rotating wire brush is used to remove the skin where the scars are significantly present. New smoother and flawless skin would appear there. The entire healing procedure takes three weeks.
Mild chemical peels to remove acne scars
Chemical peels are also used to remove the acne scars when the acne scars are not very severe. However, chemical peels are advisable to the people who are not allergic to the chemicals used.
Punch grafting
This method is carried out by removing grafts from ear lobes or from similar soft tissue areas and grafted on the scarred skin surface.
Collagen injections and steroids are increasingly being used to fill up the pores and conceal the scars.
