How I cured my acne

As part of my research on acne, its cure and the impact of pimple breakouts on teenagers, I often meet people either suffering from acne problems or just on the verge of insanity on how to deal with the scars! “How I cured my acne?” was one of my favorite questions and I often ask common people about their experiences regarding this matter. As is obvious, I came up with delightfully simple answers!
Here, I present the daily skin care regime for curing acne of a 24 year old working woman whose daily work schedule does not allow much time for a professional “touch-up”. She is Jane Fonda who works as a Fashion designer.
She says, “Pimple break-outs and acne often made me miserable. From the day I turned 14 till today, I have been constantly chased by acne. They were initially mild but as I neared 18, the breakouts were terrible, and often made me extremely conscious! It was then that I decided to follow these steps….and today, I am confident that my pimples and zits do not dominate my face. It is me who has the control! This is what I do-
- I found that daily washing my face with a medicated soap or a face wash is extremely effective. I limit my washing to twice a day because excessive washing dries my face and ends me more prone to break-outs!
- I exfoliate my skin once a week using a homemade scrub of powdered oat meal mixed in curd. I leave the paste on my face for 15 minute and gently massage to remove the scrub away with moist hands!
Home-made remedies to cure acne
- I find applying tomato juice after washing my face as an excellent way of tighten the skin pores. Sometimes, I also add drops of lemon juice or cucumber juice to the tomato juice and apply on the face and all the pimple-prone areas. I leave the mixture on for 15 minutes while I complete my other household duties. I then wash my face with cold water.
- I have found glycerin, rose water, honey and lemon juice mixtures to be very effective in preventing new outbreaks of acne. I mix equal portions of all the above mentioned products and shake well. I usually apply this mixture before going to bed and leave it overnight! My acne scars, white heads and blackheads have lessened a great deal.
How to treat pimples?
- Topical application of some creams have proved very effective in treating my pimples. Apart from that, I use over-the-counter creams which are rich in benzoyl peroxides or salicylic acid. My acne dries up in a jiffy and does not even leave a scar.
- I always keep powdered cinnamon stick mixed with rosewater in the kitchen. When a pimple is in a full blown state, I spread this paste on them and leave overnight. The pimple is often dried up by the morning!
Some lifestyle changes have helped me in treating acne: drinking more than 8 glasses of water daily, eating fresh fruits and vegetables and supplementing my diet with zinc and a multivitamin tablet has helped my skin greatly!”
