Acne redness and the associated acne scars is the most common problem that people face after having pimple break-outs! Acne is caused by clogging of the skin pores by sebum and further inflammation by the skin bacteria on the dead skin cells accumulated on the pores. All this causes the skin to swell and become red with probably a “pus” tip. Soon the pimple dries away on its own will and leaves acne redness and acne scars.

How to treat acne redness?

The foremost question that one asks is: how to treat red marks of pimples? The first thing to follow is not to touch the redness left by the acne, however, tempting it might be. You may simply transfer the germs of your hands to the skin and aggravate the problem with more acne break-outs!

  • One can follow this procedure to get rid of acne redness: Take some baking soda and mix it with water to make a paste. Now gently massage that paste on the acne red scar for 30 seconds. Now dip a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar to which few drops of water is added. Dab the moist cotton ball onto the acne mark. Leave it on for 30 minutes and wash off. Follow up this procedure by a applying a face pack, maybe some other time of the day. Beat a white of an egg to which lemon juice has been squeezed out. Leave it on the face for 30 minutes and wash off the face. Practice theses procedures daily and find your acne redness fading away!
  • Acne marks and pimple redness can also be reduced by application of glycolic acids and having chemical peels, but these procedures must be followed under the guidance of a dermatologist.
  • Acne scars can be naturally reduced by application of lemon juice to which few drops of rose water have been added.
  • Rub a cut portion of a tomato and let the juice dry on the acne bump. This would tighten the pores and also reduce the redness of the skin.
  • Popular acne creams such as Acnezine, Clean and Clear Gel etc can be used to lighten the redness of the acne and even reduce the scars.

Acne redness can be tackled with patience and of course, some home made medications and remedies. It is to be remembered that any skin care regimen is effective as long it is practiced regularly and not overdone.
