In order to treat acne, we find people lining up for effective skin care products that would not only treat the acne but also reduce the scars. Acne cleansers are highly preferred acne skin care products that take us into the first step of controlling acne, and that is: cleansing the oily skin to remove the excess sebum, ward off the acne-causing bacteria and clean up the pores!

Acne or pimple break-outs are known to greatly affect self-confidence among people. After all, no one wants to meet friends and strangers with blemishes and pimples crowding the face. In fact, acne is one of the most common skin conditions that affect 90% of the people especially in the age groups between 15-25 years.

How to use an acne cleanser?

While using acne cleansers one must keep in mind the following things:

  • The acne cleanser that you use must be non-comedogenic (meaning, does not clog the skin pores) and non-irritating.
  • They should not over dry the skin. You must not feel your skin to be dried and taut. Instead, a good acne cleanser should cleanse the skin of al the excess sebum from the face and leave it “non-oily”.
  • Do not wash the face with the cleanser more than twice. Excessive washing may simply dry up your face and that might cause more break-outs.
  • Several medicated acne cleansers are available in the market. However, it is advisable to consult a dermatologist before using them if you are already taking certain other medicated creams. Otherwise, you may be layering your skin with too many medicated stuffs!
